Trend to Try: Shorts in Fall

As I have said previously, new clothing seasons are a chance to make wardrobe resolutions. Like most resolutions, we promise to cut back on our recklessness (in spending) and invest pieces worth our time, while still promising to be youthful and take (style) risks. One of my resolutions for this fall is to try wearing shorts in fall. I have seen photos of models sporting this adorable trend without any confidence to try it on my own. However this fall I will be rocking a slouchy pair of shorts complete with ankle boots, tights/over the knee socks, a loose tank, and a draped open sweater.

Tooted & Booted.

Regarding my post title, the later is more accurate. I just got these cute black ankle boots from Ross the other day and I'm beyond excited. To go with these bad boys I bought an adorable pair of floral lace tights from Charlotte Russe. I'm already dreaming of days on campus wear I rock these boots and lace leggings with a floral dress and slouchy cardigan. Another bonus? I get to cross of black boots and lace tights from my fall wishlist. Four down, seven to go!

On a more personal note, tomorrow I'm attending an A's baseball game. I'm so excited to be amongst a cheering fans and my friends. I heard it gets super chilly at the colloseum so I'm going to be toting some of my new fall purchases. Hopefully I have pictures for you guys!

September Issues.

August is the month of reinvention and planning. There is no better month to scour our closets and rid ourselves of the unnecessary and unwearable. To me, August is like New Years Eve, a chance to redeem yourself for the past year and make new resolutions. Fashion-wise of course. So you can only imagine my eagerness as the September issues of magazines hit the stands and I am finally able to basque in the glow of everything that is fall fashion.

So which September Issues will you guys be buying and what "new year" resolutions will you be making for your fall wardrobes?

Hey you guys! I just wanted to do a quick post welcoming all of my new followers! When I started this blog around six weeks ago, I did not expect such a positive turn out. But I'm sooo glad and I appreciate every single one of you. This is why I want the next post to be about something that you all care about or want to see in my blog. If you want to see an outfit of the day, tell me! If you want to know what you should get for back to school, some of you may be going to college, you got it! Who Loves UO Shorts?

HC loves UO shorts! Aren't these the most adorable shorts you have ever seen? Glad you think so! As of 2:30pm today, they are all mine for only $10 at Urban Outfitters. I've already begun trying these babies on with cropped tops, military buttons downs, and pocketed tanks. The slouchy fit and lightweight material is just perfect for summer; but the style is so versatile that I could wear into fall. I think I'm in love!

Spotted!

As I have made excessively clear, I am completely in love with leopard and cheetah prints. There's something that is just so luxe and glamorous about these prints that at the subtlest hint of this print in an outfit, transforms a girl altogether. Whether you're are grungy chic or girly glam, you can rock the spots with the best of them. Check out who's been spotted in spots!

California Dreamin'

As a self-proclaimed CA fanatic, I am constantly bombarded with questions of my obsession with California. Unlike my nonsensical infatuation with Australia, my obsession with California comes from a lifetime of knowledge and experience. Although California may be renown for a variety of reasons: our beaches, nightlife, a home to countless celebrities, etc...none of these reasons come close to why I love this place. I love our warm summer days and cold nights, the sense of infinitely being young and carefree, and most of all the ultimate California girl style. No I'm not taking about sporting the fake tans and multiple plastic surgeries a la Heidi Montag or the sharply dressed woman who wears heels everyday, I'm talking about the style of the girl who rides her Beach Cruiser everywhere, wakes up at the crack of dawn to surf, and who is perfectly content not doing anything to her hair for days at a time. This girl drinks smoothies by the blender-full, prefers to eat organic, listens to way too much Jack Johnson, and her favorite color is something dramatic like "Orange Sunburst". By no means am I saying that each girl from California falls under this category, but when I think of the ultimate California girl this is what comes to mind. And while I may not be the complete California girl I envision, I definitely aspire to be.
